Macchiato Jewelry specializes in unique and affordable ethnic style jewelry with handmade beads. When it comes to designing my handmade jewelry I take great care when creating each design.
For my designs I mainly use ethnic beads and beads made of natural material, that I have been collecting for many years from all over the world. I consider handcrafted beads and pendants as precious pieces of art. They have their own unique character and show beautiful natural imperfections that are the result of traditional handmade processes. Puzzling the irregular beads together to create an elegant necklace is a challenging creative process.

In my shop you will find eye-catching statement necklaces for a special occasion, but also modest casual necklaces and mala style pieces. I also have a collection of bracelets and bohemian and tribal earrings.

As a social anthropologist I have been traveling a lot! Besides traveling around the world, I have lived for years in Pakistan and Ethiopia where I worked with refugees.
My love for beads started a long time ago when I used to search for affordable but ''not to extravagant'' ethnic style jewelry pieces for myself. I like to wear pieces to the office or to an informal party. Because modest pieces with unique beads seemed hard to find I decided to create my own designs. I really loved the creative process so I decided to share my pieces with you. I opened my shop in 2014 and I am excited that it is growing ever since.

I am fascinated by the fact that beads from Africa and Asia are still handmade by local artisans. The beads are made by using traditional techniques of recycled, natural or locally produced material, like recycled pieces of glass, bone, resin or metal. Besides this material I also discovered some great ceramic artists and I make use of the impressive work of a traditional blacksmith.

You will find no plastics in my designs!
